Amy Speace can do no wrong
If you don't know Amy's music, do yourself a favor and set aside some time to check it out. She's a gifted singer songwriter with a range of styles from folk to rock. All original. Besides her song writing ability, her voice is a formidable instrument. I'm listening to her current album "The Killer In Me" along side an older album "Fable". She's unafraid of taking creative leaps and push outside the norm.
My comments about the the title track "The Killer In Me" -- An honest and direct exploration of how we fixate on the imperfection of another and prevent love from flourishing. Love lies out of reach if we can't get past the flaws that are mirrored in another. Amy's low register vocal is anchored in that sad knowledge of how we conspire to undo love but breaks free at the bridge to light a hopeful candle. Revealing and true.
Don't wait to check her out. Currently on tour (and I'm wishing she would drop down to Oklahoma City).
